How do i get my emails back after updating from office 03 to 2010?

I was using office 2003 pro and have just bought 2010 home and student and this does not have a new outlook, upon setup of the new program in the advanced settings I stated not to remove outlook 03 but when I restarted 03 outlook was missing, and also missing from the program folder. I had numerous emails in there so I tried restarting to an earlier point but all attempts failed so I now have the new office minus outlook so I am downloading the new outlook and want to retrieve all my emails that I had in the old outlook. Any ideas of how to retrieve them, I have the PST archive file I think somewhere if it has not been removed but how about all the recent emails and calendar events?
